I found this tag on another book blogger, ZeZee With Books, website but according to her the originator was Jay Dee on Youtube.

SUNDAY: A BOOK YOU DIDN’T WANT TO END
For me, this was all the Finlay Donovan books by Elle Cosimano. I have read the first four but haven’t yet started the recently released fifth book (though I did preorder it so I have it on my physical TBR). This is a series of what I would describe as cozy thrillers, which sounds like an odd combination but trust me it works. I love the characters (with the exception of Finlay’s ex-husband, Steven, who irks me). The plots are always so chaotic in the best way and I can never anticipate where it’s going next. I'm anticipating reading the fifth book, but also dread knowing that it’s only 300ish pages which means it will be over all too soon. I’m not sure if the way I’ve described this series exactly sells it well, but if you want a series that you can have a fun time with then consider picking Finlay Donovan is Killing It (the first book) up.

MONDAY: A BOOK YOU’RE TOO LAZY TO READ
I don’t necessarily have any books that I’m too lazy to read. My problem is just that my physical TBR keeps growing and I’ve been having an especially slow reading year. I attribute this to me having so many subpar reads which has lessened my excitement to read and start new books. Yet, I keep adding more and more to my TBR because it’s difficult to say no when they’re from the library and I don’t have to pay or they’re by a favorite author I want to support.

TUESDAY: A BOOK THAT WAS HARD TO FINISH
It kills me to say this because The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune is one of my all-time favorite books, but my answer for this is the sequel Somewhere Beyond the Sea. I enjoyed reuniting with the characters that I adore so dearly, but the plot was a big disappointment. It felt largely like a rehash of the first book. I don’t regret reading it, but I never felt that strong pull to pick it up and read more.

WEDNESDAY: A BOOK YOU HAVEN’T FINISHED YET
I just started my reread of Vera Wong's Unsolicited Guide to Murderers by Jesse Q. Sutanto in anticipation of the April release of the sequel. I am also listening to the audiobook for The Best Way to Bury Your Husband by Alexia Casale.

THURSDAY: A BOOK YOU DON’T RECOMMEND
My first book of 2025 is (sadly) what I’m choosing for this question. The book is The Treasure Hunters Club by Tom Ryan. The whole idea of a town that has this legendary lost pirate treasure and families with dark secrets drew me in. What took me back out was the forced romance, the useless characters, and the promised big reveal being one I’ve read so many times before. It is always such a bummer when a book’s synopsis sounds so appealing and then it fails to live up to my expectations.

FRIDAY: A BOOK YOU CAN’T WAIT TO BE RELEASED
Rachel Gilig’s debut duology (One Dark Window and Two Twisted Crowns) were two of the best fantasies I’ve ever read (and I read a lot of fantasy). The characters, the unique world building, the story, the lyrical prose, it was a heavenly reading experience. As a fantasy writer myself, I really admire her for her craft. All that is to say her third book (unrelated to her duology but still fantasy) is being released in May. From the moment the title (The Knight and the Moth – how ethereal is that?) was revealed I’ve been anticipating this upcoming release.

SATURDAY: A BOOK YOU WANTED TO RE-READ RIGHT AWAY
I love to reread books and find it especially useful to refresh my memory when the next book in a series comes out. I almost never reread a book right away, though. I like to let about a year pass before I reread. My favorite book to reread is Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson. It’s a YA mystery set at a boarding school and it’s become my comfort read.
